Description
Set in polyresin, these two large bookends are sculptures of peacocks set on black plinths. Painted white gold, the detail work is given extra depth by the warmth of the gold. The peacocks are simplistic in shape, but have beautifully detailed bodies, including their tails, which look like a thick bunch of feathers, each individually detailed. The large matt black plinth that holds them up is heavy enough to support books between the two statues, and the small beam that holds them up gives the impression of the peacocks being perched there.
